PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY

In addition to brushing twice daily and flossing at least once a day, it’s important to have your pearly whites polished by a professional to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Regular dental cleanings will help to prevent cavities, periodontal disease and calculus buildup. It is also an effective way to remove surface stains.

FAQ

ROOT CANALS

If one of your teeth is forcing you to eat soup instead of steak, you might need a root canal. Fortunately, it’s not nearly as scary as you think.

Root canals treat and preserve teeth with badly infected roots. The pulp – the live portion of the tooth – extends into the root. It contains nerve-endings and tissues. When the pulp becomes infected, you may experience pain and swelling. If left untreated, you can lose a tooth.

Root canals remove the damaged part of the tooth and infected pulp. You may have to take an antibiotic to prevent further infection within the tooth. The remaining tooth may be restored with a porcelain filling or crown.

ORAL SURGERY

We will always try our best to preserve your natural teeth, but sometimes a tooth extraction is the only option to remove decayed or damaged teeth that are causing problems. This procedure is performed at the practice. Depending on the tooth being removed, it may be replaced with a dental implant or oral prosthetic.

FAQ

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are artificial roots that support permanent tooth prosthetics. These artificial roots are anchored in the bone beneath the gum where they become infused into the jaw bone.

CLEAR ALIGNERS

Braces are standard for orthodontic correction, but few adults want to wear a mouthful of metal for a year or more while teeth are being moved into better alignment. Clear aligners address this problem by offering a discreet alternative to metal braces.

With clear aligner treatment, there are no brackets or wires. Instead, you will receive a customised series of transparent trays that you will wear for at least 22 hours every day. The aligners will straighten your teeth little by little over the course of several months.

FAQ

ORTHODONTICS

When children are young, their jaws are constantly growing to accommodate new teeth. This is the perfect time to correct malpositioned teeth since teeth are easily moved, which shortens the period of treatment.

DENTURES

Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth. In the past, dentures were sometimes uncomfortable and awkward, but today’s dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than before.
