Crowns
Our porcelain crowns provide an aesthetic restoration for teeth that require extra support. Dental crowns cover damaged teeth or teeth with large fillings to provide protection from further damage. Crowns come in various materials, but we use porcelain for its durability, stain resistance and perfect colour match.
When receiving a crown, we first prepare your tooth and take impressions to ensure a perfect match. It’s essential for your tooth to have a healthy foundation in order to fit the crown. The crown is then made in a dental laboratory before being fitted. You will hardly even notice the crown as it functions and feels just like a natural tooth, so you can smile, speak and eat as usual.
Veneers
Not keen to commit to full crowns? That’s alright, our dental veneers work just as well as giving your teeth new life. These tooth-coloured shells can rectify a range of dental and aesthetic concerns, including gaps, short teeth and stains.
Veneers are only used for the front teeth as they are shell-like caps and don’t cover the entire tooth like a crown. You can have one veneer or many, but it’s typically best to get several so that all your front teeth can match.
To receive veneers, we’ll first need to take impressions of your teeth and select the ideal shape and colour you want. These are then made into durable tooth shells that we cement to the front of the teeth. The best part is that they will function just like your natural teeth.
Bridges
Missing teeth as an adult, even if it’s just one, is not ideal. You need all of your teeth for your mouth to be able to function properly and to prevent alignment issues. Dental bridges solve this issue by replacing the missing teeth with one or more false teeth that are permanently fixed to your mouth.
Crowns, dental implants or a metal framework are used to connect the bridge to the adjacent teeth and help it stay in place. In order to receive a dental bridge, the adjacent teeth need to be prepared, and an impression is taken so that we can match the false teeth to your remaining natural teeth. The bridge is then inserted and attached to the crown or metal framework, and you can return to your usual activities.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are artificial roots that support permanent tooth prosthetics. These artificial roots are anchored in the bone beneath the gum, where they become infused into the jawbone, providing a permanent solution to missing teeth. The dental implant procedure can be quite complex and invasive, but it is an extremely effective way to replace teeth that are missing or have been extracted.
The first thing that is necessary for implants is to establish if you have a healthy foundation for the implant. Your jawbone, gums and remaining teeth need to be in a good state in order to receive an implant. Otherwise, you will have to wait to receive an implant. The next step is to assess whether you need a bone graft or extraction, as this will need to heal before the implant can be inserted.
During the implant procedure, we will make an incision into the gum and insert the metal post into the jawbone. This will need to heal and fuse before we can add the prosthetic. From here, the dental implant will either receive a bridge or crown and become a permanent addition to your smile. Learn more about our dental implant procedure here.
Dental Bonding
Dental resin bonding is a procedure used to uplift the smile and create a more harmonious appearance. We use thin coats of resin to reshape and repair teeth that have been damaged, cracked or stained. Dental bonding is a completely painless procedure that can restore your confidence and add functionality back to your smile.
Before the procedure, we will work with you to select the shape, size and colour of your teeth. Then, during the procedure, we apply the resin in thin layers, curing between each layer. The result is a complete transformation and healthy teeth.
Teeth Whitening
Having your teeth professionally whitened is one of the best ways to get an instant boost of confidence for your smile. Professional teeth whitening is safe, effective and can lighten your teeth by up to 10 shades depending on the number of sessions you have.
We use a professional tool kit to safely apply the lightening gel without affecting your enamel or gums. We first apply a protective gel to your gums and then add the whitening agent to your teeth. The agent is cured using blue-light technology before being removed. You will notice an immediate improvement in the shade of your teeth, and they will continue to lighten in the days following.
Teeth whitening is ideal if you have discoloured teeth caused by age, smoking, alcohol or certain foods. However, it won’t remove stains, and you should avoid specific habits and consuming food and drinks that can lead to discolouration after the procedure.
